Abstract

nA pilot study was conducted to develop and evaluate the Effectiveness of RMC Interventions on knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Nurses and Maternal Perception about RMC among Mothers attending Maternity Units of selected Hospitals of Chandigarh. Quasi- Experimental research design was used to collect data from Nurses and Post test only design was used to collect data from Mothers. 10 % of final study sample was selected for Pilot study i.e. 6 Nurses and 6 mothers (3 in each control and experimental group) working in selected Hospitals of Chandigarh. Total enumerative sampling was used to select sample for the study. Data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics at p<0.05 which was considered statistically significant. The study findings revealed that on Post test1, Mean Knowledge score of Experimental group was 21.000±1.155 which was significantly higher than the mean knowledge score of Control group 16.000±0.000. Similarly on Post test 2, Mean Knowledge score of Experimental group 19.667±0.000 which was significantly higher than the Mean knowledge score of Control group 16.667±0.577, (p<0.05) While there is no statistically significant difference in Pre and Post test Mean Attitude and Practice score of Nurses in Experimental group compare to Control group. Also, study Results regarding Post test Mean Perception scores of Experimental and Control group of mothers were 42.33 ± 21.548 and 28.33 ± 4.509 respectively which were statistically non-significant. (p>0.05). In addition to that, On Post test 1, Attitude score of Nurses with Perception of mother is having statistically significant high positive correlation (r=0.963) (p>0.005). Additionally, On Post test 2, Attitude score of Nurses with perception of Mother was having statistically significant high positive correlation (r=0.945)
(p>0.005).
