Abstract

Gurudwaras are important places of worship in Sikhism and serve as centres of spiritual learning, community service, and religious education. They have played a significant role in shaping Sikh history, religious traditions, cultural heritage, and collective identity. Sant Teja Singh devoted his life to the propagation of Sikhism, the protection of Sikh rights, and the establishment of educational institutions and Gurudwaras. Through his extensive travels abroad, he spread the teachings of Sikh Gurus, promoted Sikh values, and worked to strengthen the religious and cultural identity of Sikh communities living in foreign countries. His contributions also helped create opportunities for education and spiritual development among Sikhs. The present study examines his contributions to the promotion of Sikhism in two parts. The first part discusses his efforts to safeguard the rights of Sikhs abroad and highlights the educational institutions and Gurudwaras established through his initiatives. The second part focuses on the institutions and Gurudwaras established by him in India, emphasizing their importance in advancing Sikh religious education, social awareness, and community development.
