Abstract

n

n

nBroiler meat is a crucial component of global protein consumption, yet its acceptance is often hindered by concerns related to health, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and consumer perception. This study examines the factors influencing consumer preferences for broiler meat and explores strategies to address public concerns while promoting sustainable development. Misinformation regarding antibiotic residues, growth promoters, and broiler welfare has contributed to negative consumer sentiment, leading to a preference for alternative protein sources. Additionally, environmental concerns surrounding intensive poultry farming, including its carbon footprint and resource utilization, further challenge its acceptance. Socioeconomic factors, cultural preferences, and regulatory inconsistencies also influence consumer attitudes, shaping purchasing decisions and market demand. Addressing these concerns requires a multi-dimensional approach, incorporating improved farming practices, transparent communication, and policy interventions. Enhancing meat quality, ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards, and promoting sustainable feed alternatives are pivotal in reshaping public perception. Furthermore, consumer education and labeling transparency play critical roles in mitigating misconceptions. By adopting an integrated strategy that aligns consumer expectations with sustainable production models, the poultry industry can enhance the acceptance of broiler meat while contributing to food security and environmental stewardship. This study provides insights into overcoming barriers to broiler meat consumption and fostering a more sustainable poultry sector.nn
