Abstract

nA preliminary investigation was undertaken to create and assess the impact of RMC (Respectful Maternity Care) interventions on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of nurses, as well as maternal perceptions regarding RMC, within maternity units at specific hospitals in Chandigarh. A quasi-experimental research design was utilized for data collection from nurses, while a post-test only design was employed for collecting data from mothers. A preliminary investigation, constituting 10% of the eventual study cohort, included 6 nurses and 6 mothers (3 from each control and experimental group) working at designated hospitals in Chandigarh. The entire study sample was selected using exhaustive sampling methodology. Data analysis involved both descriptive and inferential statistics, with a significance level established at p<0.05 to indicate statistical significance. The data underwent analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics, with a significance level set at p0.005. Similarly, during Post-test 2, a statistically significant strong positive correlation (r=0.945) was noted between nurses’ attitude scores and mothers’ perceptions, with a significance level of p>0.005.
