Abstract
With the advent of World Wide Web and Internet Technologies, the website is considered as the most efficient means to capture and disseminate diverse information. Therefore, each institution has its own website as a dominant medium of imparting information to target users. In this context, this article has made an attempt to analyze and compare the website contents of libraries of eight Central Universities of Union Territories of India. Library websites were evaluated based on a checklist compiled especially for this purpose and from a free tool namely Nibbler available through Silktide. The study’s findings showed that while most Central University library websites provide information about their name, library, book collection, electronic resources, accuracy, variety of services, and accessibility, they fall short in their ability to provide information about upcoming projects, annual reports, RSS feeds, and other related topics.
