Abstract
The domain of electronics communication systems has experienced rapid transformation due to the growing demand for high-speed, reliable, and intelligent communication networks. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of emerging trends such as Fifth Generation (5G) communication systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled networks, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), optical communication advancements, and cybersecurity mechanisms. The combination of cloud computing, edge computing, and network virtualization which improve system flexibility, allow real-time processing, and drastically lower latency in large-scale networks is also examined in this article. Additionally, the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence for automated problem detection, traffic prediction, and intelligent network optimisation is investigated. System architectures, enabling technologies, performance enhancements, and practical applications are the study’s main topics. Furthermore, it discusses challenges such as scalability, energy efficiency, and security risks. Cutting-edge technologies like quantum communication, terahertz spectrum utilisation, and Sixth Generation (6G) communication are emphasised to shed light on upcoming communication paradigms. To ensure sustainable network expansion, the study also highlights the significance of green communication techniques that concentrate on energy-efficient system design and decreased environmental effect. These innovations collectively define the evolution toward next-generation communication systems, paving the way for smart infrastructure and digital transformation. The growing significance of modern semiconductor technologies and integrated photonics in enhancing data transmission speeds and overall system performance is discussed in the article.
