Since cancer continues to be a major cause of morbidity and death globally, effective prevention measures are desperately needed. As the world’s cancer burden increases, interest in alternative cancer prevention methods, particularly the use of herbal medicine, is also increasing. With their rich history and diverse phytochemical composition, medicinal plants provide a great opportunity for the development of disease prevention strategies. This review explores the potential of various plants, including their bioactive compounds, mechanisms of action, and scientific evidence supporting their anti-inflammatory properties. The main findings suggest that many herbal plants have significant anti-inflammatory properties, which can be attributed to their ability to alter cellular processes associated with cancer healing, such as apoptosis, inflammation, and oxidative stress. Despite the benefits gained from clinical and therapeutic research, there remain issues with the formulation, bioavailability, and administration of herbal products. Future research should focus on resolving these issues, conducting rigorous clinical trials, and exploring the integration of herbals with cancer therapy. This review highlights the potential of herbals as important tools in cancer prevention and explores more ways to bring their health benefits to the public.
