Abstract

nCurcuma longa (turmeric), a perennial herb notably utilized in traditional medication, has garnered big clinical attention due to its major bioactive compound, curcumin. Curcumin, well-known shows a couple of organic activities, together with antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, and neurodegenerative effects, making it a promising candidate for the management of neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), which include Alzheimer’s illness, Parkinson’s disorder (PD), Huntington’s sickness (HD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This evaluate consolidates current findings at the neuroprotective mechanisms of curcumin, its pharmacokinetics, bioavailability demanding situations, and its utility in medical settings. Emphasis is laid on in vitro and in vivo studies, as well as scientific trials assisting the efficacy of curcumin in mitigating neurodegenerative pathologies. Advances in nano formulation techniques aimed at enhancing its mind-targeted shipping are also mentioned.
