Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) represents a transformative technological paradigm with the potential to reshape industries, enhance daily life, and drive innovation across sectors. This study explores the scope and challenges of IoT by examining its foundational concepts, applications, and the critical issues it faces. IoT enables seamless interconnectivity between devices, systems, and users, paving the way for advancements in smart homes, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, and urban development. Despite its vast potential, the implementation of IoT encounters notable obstacles such as ensuring data security, addressing privacy issues, achieving scalability, improving interoperability, and mitigating the environmental impact of IoT devices. Addressing these challenges requires multidisciplinary collaboration, robust regulatory frameworks, and innovative solutions. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of IoT, emphasizing the balance needed between fostering innovation and mitigating its associated risks to realize a connected, efficient, and sustainable future.

Keywords: Smart homes, COVID 19, network-based supply chains, industrial applications
