        Special Issue Description

The development of digital technologies significantly altered the architectural field. Architecture is being forced into a previously unattainable new world of intricacy, detail, and materiality thanks to digital manufacturing. Understanding the effects of these technologies can guide future study, advance design, and construction methods, and enhance the training of professional futures. There aren’t many thorough analyses, though, that provides an all-encompassing viewpoint on how 3D printing technologies are affecting architecture. In this study, state-of-the-art research on 3D printing technologies in architectural design and construction will be systematically reviewed. Three major databases were used to conduct the review, and both quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted on a subset of peer-reviewed journal papers that had been published within the previous 10 years. By using bibliometric analysis, it is possible to identify trends in the number of articles published annually, the co-authorship network of well-known authors, and the major themes that appear in the literature and are grouped into three categories. The client can see a fully realized version of the suggested project thanks to the architectural model. Making traditional construction models requires a lot of labor, though. Reproducing little details precisely takes a lot of effort, time, and money. As a result, highly important minor details are frequently overlooked, even though they are frequently used to present special designs and are crucial to the customer’s decision-making.

        Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
