        Special Issue Description

In multipath wireless communication, multi-user MIMO refers to a set of multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) systems where several users or terminals, each radioing via one or more antennas, connect. In contrast, single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO) features a single user or terminal that is equipped with multiple antennas connecting with just one other node that is similarly equipped. Similar to how OFDMA enhances OFDM’s multiple-access capabilities in the world of cellular communications, MU-MIMO enhances MIMO’s multiple-user capabilities in the world of wireless communications. Multiple users can be used as spatially distributed transmission resources with MU-MIMO, however, signal processing is slightly more expensive as a result. Comparatively, local-device multiple-antenna dimensions are the only ones used in traditional single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO). In MIMO systems with more than one user connection, MU-MIMO algorithms improve performance. MIMO broadcast channels (MIMO BC) and MIMO multiple-access channels (MIMO MAC) for downlink and uplink scenarios, respectively, can be used to generalize MU-MIMO. In contrast, SU-MIMO can be described as a paired, point-to-point MIMO. Future 5G systems will perform better thanks to massive MIMO in terms of data rate and spectral efficiency while supporting a huge number of users. To give users additional degrees of freedom and expand the number of high-throughput users, it also supports 3D beamforming. Regarding energy and spectrum efficiency, massive MIMO is anticipated to offer more benefits than other options.

        Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
