        Special Issue Description

Technical drawings of a structure (or construction project) that meet the concept of architecture are referred to as architectural drawings or architect’s drawings. Architectural drawings are used by architects and others for a variety of reasons, including developing a design concept into a convincing proposal, communicating ideas and concepts, persuading clients that a design is worthwhile, helping a building contractor build it following the design intent, serving as a record of the design and planned development, or creating a record of an existing structure. A set of norms is followed when creating architectural drawings, including specific views (floor plan, section, etc.), sheet sizes, scales, annotation, and cross-referencing. Drawings were traditionally created using ink on paper or another comparable surface, and any necessary copies had to be painstakingly done by hand. Drawing on tracing paper became more common in the 20th century for mechanical duplicates to be produced quickly. Architectural engineering also referred to as building engineering or architecture engineering, is a branch of engineering that focuses on technological issues and a multidisciplinary approach to planning, designing, building, and operating buildings. Examples of these issues include analysis and integrated design of environmental systems (energy conservation, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire protection, acoustics, vertical and horizontal transportation, electrical power systems), structural analysis, and building operation.
