        Special Issue Description

“Sustainable urbanization” is a method that strikes a balance between an urban area’s economic, environmental, and social perspectives. To achieve this balance, an expert system is necessary. As an alternative, urban planning is a traditional method modified to balance many factors. Urban planning is crucial in achieving sustainability because it strikes the right balance. City Development Strategies (CDS) is a newly emerging strategic urban planning method to maintain sustainability in a substantial share of developing countries. Urban planning is a common method for striking a balance between many factors, and it may be a useful tool for fostering communication between planners, officials, and the local population. The advice offered by the City Planning Tool is on how to determine the social, economic, and environmental effects of municipal policies. It makes it possible to analyze social, economic, and environmental developments in a systematic way, which makes it easier to describe how city planning and steady growth are mutually dependent on a strategic and operational level. Urban sustainability can be divided into two main categories: 1) Sustainable cities; 2) Sustainable urban growth; or 3) Sustainable urbanization. The terms “urban sustainability” and “sustainable city” refer to situations where certain criteria are met, including wise resource use, environmental protection, the use of non-renewable resources as little as possible, economic growth and variety, community self-confidence, individual welfare, and the fulfillment of basic human needs.
