Special Issue Description

Recent developments in polymer and composite materials focus on enhancing performance, sustainability, and functionality across various industries. Key trends include the growing demand for biodegradable polymers and eco-friendly composites, which aim to reduce environmental impact. Advances in nanocomposites have enabled the creation of lightweight, high-strength materials that offer superior mechanical properties, particularly in automotive and aerospace applications. There is also a significant push towards smart polymers that respond to external stimuli, expanding their use in biomedical and environmental monitoring technologies. In addition, reinforced polymer composites are gaining attention due to their versatility in combining strength with reduced weight, making them ideal for applications in construction, marine, and electronics. The integration of additive manufacturing with polymer composites has introduced novel ways to produce customized, high-performance parts with complex geometries. Researchers are also exploring recycling techniques to improve the sustainability of these materials, focusing on methods to reuse and repurpose polymer composites in a circular economyts are shaping the future of materials science, making polymer and composite materials more efficient, sustainable, and adaptable to emerging technologies.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
