Special Issue Description

Economic activity and the factors influencing it are studied in the branch of human geography known as economic geography. It could also be seen as an approach or branch of economics. The study of economic geography has four subfields. There are four sectors: primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary. Location of industries, economies of agglomeration (also known as “linkages”), transportation, international trade, development, real estate, gentrification, ethnic economies, gendered economies, core-periphery theory, the economics of urban form, and the relationship between the environment and the economy (tying into a long history of geographers studying culture-environment conversations) are just a few of the topics covered by economic geography.
