Special Issue Description

Gene therapy attempts to treat illness or strengthen your body’s resistance to illness by replacing a damaged gene or adding a new gene. Numerous disorders, including cancer, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, diabetes, hemophilia, and AIDS, may be treated with gene therapy. One of the biggest technical difficulties in contemporary medicine is gene therapy. Maintaining the function of newly introduced genes in bodily cells is highly challenging. Additionally, there are financial issues: To treat illness or strengthen your body’s resistance to illness, gene therapy replaces a defective gene or introduces a new gene. Gene therapy has promise in the treatment of a variety of illnesses, including AIDS, cancer, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, diabetes, and hemophilia.
