        Special Issue Description

        This special issue focuses on the theory and applications of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in manufacturing and design optimization. ML and AI have shown tremendous potential in improving the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of manufacturing processes, as well as in enabling advanced design optimization for complex systems. This special issue invites original research articles, reviews, and case studies that highlight the latest advances in ML and AI for manufacturing and design optimization. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share their latest findings and insights into the use of ML and AI in manufacturing and design optimization, to advance the state-of-the-art in this field.
