        Special Issue Description

        Psychopharmacology is the study, development, and application of medications to alter behavior and relieve symptoms, especially when treating mental diseases. The creation of the class of pharmacological treatments known as tranquilizers (such as chlorpromazine, reserpine, and other milder agents) and antidepressants, including the highly effective class known as tricyclic antidepressants, was one of the most notable developments in the treatment of mental illnesses in the middle of the 20th century. Psychopharmacology has become a major approach to treatment in primary medical care. Some of the benefits are, allowing a drug’s release when pharmacological activity is desired or necessary. increasing adherence to medicine by the patient.
