        Special Issue Description

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) continues to be the main cause of death in the world. With the availability of antithrombotic and anticoagulant regimens that have significantly reduced the rate of ischemic events at the expense of increased bleeding risk, significant advances have been made in the field. In tandem with pharmacological strategies, drug-eluting stent technology has been gradually refined during the percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ACS in recent years. Following the index PCI, the international guidelines have broadened the universal recommendation of the 12-month duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) by adding shorter or longer DAPT regimens based on the higher ischemic and bleeding patient profile. Studies in precision medicine use diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms that are tuned for each patient’s unique risk. With this background, Precision Medicine studies are being promoted in the scientific community to improve risk stratification and optimize ACS patient care.

        Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
