[This article belongs to Special Issue Role of Transmembrane Mucins in Lung Diseases under section rrjomst, rrjomst in (rrjomst, rrjomst)]

        Special Issue Description

Transmembrane mucins, such as Krebs von den Lungen-6/MUC1, MUC4, and MUC16, are particularly involved in the process of cellular proliferation, growth, and apoptosis and are expressed more prominently in damaged or regenerated epithelial cells. The study of the diagnostic and prognostic value of mucins in a variety of lung disorders, such as interstitial lung disease (ILD), lung cancer, and coronavirus disease, has recently attracted increased interest (COVID-19). Due to the inexorably worsening status of patients with concurrent interstitial lung involvement, this has brought attention to the significance of transmembrane mucins in rheumatologic illnesses linked with ILD and the need to detect individuals with lung involvement. Additionally, it has been hypothesized that mucins can be used to track the severity of disease since the coronavirus-2 pandemic that caused the severe acute respiratory syndrome outbreak. Original research articles, concise reports, and review articles concentrating on the function of transmembrane mucins in the area of lung ailments are requested for this topic.

        Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
