        Special Issue Description

Immunotherapy is a cancer treatment method. It boosts the immune system and helps the body find and destroy cancer cells by using substances made by the body or in a laboratory. Immunotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of cancers. It can be used alone or with chemotherapy and/or other cancer treatments. Several recent developments have marked the advancement of tumor immunology and immunotherapy. There are several types of immunotherapies, and each helps the immune system differently. For example, the administration of interleukin-2 (IL-2) to cancer patients demonstrated that an immunological manipulation could mediate the regression of established growing cancers in humans.
