      Special Issue Description

A very special category of polymers is elastomers, making them a necessary topic in the special issue series of the Journal of Polymer & Composites. These are polymers with viscosity and elasticity, also known as viscoelastic. They have a glass transition temperature that is far below ambient temperature, are amorphous, and are only weakly cross-linked. They can be thought of as a single, enormous molecule that is macroscopic in size. The polymer chains’ intermolecular forces are not very strong. At temperatures above the glass transition, the chains are highly flexible and a small force results in considerable deformation, yet the crosslinks fully block irreversible flow. Due to their elasticity, flexibility, insoluble nature, and numerous other distinctive characteristics, they play a crucial and pervasive role in daily life. Cis-polyisoprene (natural rubber, NR), cis-polybutadiene (butadiene rubber, BR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and ethylene-propylene monomer are the four most popular elastomers (EPM).

      Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for the submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
