Special Issue Description

Immune lymphocytes called T cells guard the body against infections and cancerous cells. Bone marrow serves as the source of T lymphocytes, which develop in the thymus. For cell-mediated immunity and the activation of immune cells to fight infection, they are crucial. A lymphocyte is a classification of white blood cells that includes T cells. Against malignant cells and cells that have been infected by pathogens like bacteria and viruses, lymphocytes defend the body. T-cell lymphocytes are created from bone marrow stem cells. These immature T cells travel through the blood to the thymus. The primary purpose of the thymus, a lymphatic system organ, is to encourage the maturation of T lymphocytes. The thymus derives from what the “T” in T cell lymphocytes stands for.
