Abstract
Concrete is still the main material used in modern construction, and high strength concrete (HSC) is especially important for structures that need to be very strong. With more focus on being environmentally friendly, using waste materials from industries like stone in concrete has become a good way to make construction more eco-friendly. However, getting rid of stone waste, such as granite slurry, marble powder, and quarry dust, causes environmental problems because it can pollute the land and use up natural resources. Making regular concrete also leads to a lot of carbon emissions, so there’s a growing need for more sustainable building materials. This review paper brings together results from several studies to look at how adding different types of stone waste affects the strength and durability of HSC. It checks how the use of stone waste influences things like compressive strength, how easily the concrete can be mixed, its internal structure, and how it holds up over time. The analysis shows that using the right amount of stone waste in place of cement or fine materials can actually make the concrete stronger, reduce how much water can get through it, and help it resist damage from chemicals. Some mixtures also have better heat resistance and less shrinking. Overall, this work shows that using stone waste has two main benefits: it helps protect the environment and makes concrete better performing. It gives a clear picture of how these materials behave, which helps guide future research and real-world use in sustainable construction.
