Abstract
This paper explores the emerging trend of modular and prefabricated design in the interior design industry, highlighting its potential to revolutionize the creation of residential and commercial spaces. The study examines the advantages of these approaches, including cost efficiency, sustainability, and design flexibility, while also addressing the challenges such as design constraints and regulatory hurdles. Through the analysis of contemporary projects and innovative case studies, the research demonstrates how modular and prefabricated design can enhance quality control, reduce construction time, and adapt to changing needs.
Furthermore, this research delves into the role of technological advancements such as 3D printing and smart home integration in advancing modular construction techniques. By exploring how these technologies can be incorporated into prefabricated units, the paper illustrates the potential for creating highly customized and technologically advanced living and working spaces.
The findings underscore the significance of modular and prefabricated design in addressing current and future demands for sustainable, efficient, and adaptable interior environments, positioning these methods as critical components in the evolution of the interior design industry.
