Abstract

nAnalytical chemistry constitutes a vital discipline within the realm of scientific inquiry, facilitating the identification and measurement of components present in diverse substances and mixtures. This paper delineates the principles, methodologies, and applications of analytical chemistry, focusing on spectroscopy and chromatography techniques. Spectroscopy, including UV-Visible spectroscopy, elucidates molecular properties by analysing the absorption of electromagnetic radiation, while chromatography enables the separation of compound mixtures based on differential affinities to stationary and mobile phases. The document delineates the instrumentation and applications of UV-Visible spectroscopy and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), emphasizing their roles across various scientific domains. Method development and validation processes ensure the accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of analytical techniques, fostering trust and innovation in scientific endeavours. The paper also elucidates the stages and requirements involved in method development, as well as the parameters and steps encompassed in method validation. The importance of validation in establishing the suitability and integrity of analytical methods is underscored, with a comprehensive discussion on validation types, steps, and parameters. Through meticulous validation processes, analytical chemists uphold the credibility and quality of analytical data, thereby fostering confidence and innovation in scientific research and applications.
