Abstract

Clinical pharmacy is the branch of pharmacy and is the practice that helps the pharmacist provide services to promote rational and economical drug therapy that it’s appropriate, safe and cost effective which successively optimizes the utilization of medication and promote wellness, health and disease prevention. The reason for emergency of clinical pharmacy practice has been remarkably consistent worldwide. Clinical pharmacist provide care for patients altogether health care setting, clinical pharmacist often works in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners and other health care practitioners. India is a country with many drugs use. Drug related problems occur at various levels of medication use process and involve prescriber, patient, pharmacists, nurses, the pharmaceutical industry and the government. The scope for clinical pharmacy practice in India is tremendous in various levels of the pharmacy profession. Clinical pharmacist is involved in ward round participation, the objectives are to ensure safe, effective, economic and patient friendly treatment with the knowledge inputs of every professional practice.
