Abstract
This research paper discusses a smart home automation system When the Internet of Things is implemented, a simple house can be converted into a smart home with better automation and security. This paper aims to create a voice/text- controlled home application that will help users control their appliances remotely. Switching appliances ON or OFF as per their requirements by just sending text SMS instructions or voice commands. Even if the users are not physically near to the equipment, they can schedule for its status. They will also access information on earlier schedules and can turn the devices ON for predefined durations. The technology in this application is relatively low cost with high performance so has very low implementation cost. In addition to being able to control your devices in real time, this system also provides you with the option to schedule your devices to run at a predetermined time. Additionally, you can set your devices to remain ON for a specific period of time, which will result in more efficient use of energy. The history of scheduled and operational states of a device is recorded within the application so that you may access your history and make decisions based upon historical usage patterns.
