Abstract

Education can foster an educated and active public, therefore, facilitating collective action to address environmental concerns and attain sustainable development objectives. Education is essential for fostering environmental awareness, enabling citizens to engage in conservation and sustainability efforts Environmental education (EE) is an important instrument for providing individuals with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to address major environmental issues. It promotes a sense of our interconnectedness with nature, stressing the significance of resource conservation and sustainable practices through awareness. By fostering environmentally conscious individuals, EE rethinks sustainable methods for the concreate solution, leading the road for a healthy planet and a resilient future. Formal education raises awareness and enables people to address global environmental issues effectively. Non-formal education can reach rural populations, marginalized groups and people who are not enrolled in formal education, making it highly inclusive. Environmental education extends further just spreading facts; it aspires to influence people’s actions and views in a positive light. The complex relationships between human actions and natural systems may be better understood if environmental education is a central component of school curriculum throughout all grades. Students can grasp the critical importance of environmental problems and the need for sustainable activities via this all-encompassing method. Inculcating a feeling of accountability and sustainable development towards the environment is a key goal of environmental education. ENVIS (Environmental Information System) serves as a centralized repository for all essential environmental data, reports, and resources. By implementing comprehensive and inclusive educational techniques, we can cultivate a culture of environmentally maintaining ecosystems, biodiversity, and essential ecological processes including carbon capture and clean water availability; guarantees responsible management of natural resources for tackling the urgent environmental challenges of our day and securing a sustainable future.
