Abstract
With more than 61 years of independence, the portion of agriculture in the whole national revenue has been come down from 50 percent in the year 1950 to 18 percent in the year 2007-08. But, as sup above specified, more than 60 percent of workforce in the country are involved in the agricultural activity. But the economy in general depends to a great extent on the performance of agriculture. For these reasons agriculture remains the premier sector of the Indian Economy. Objective: The study seeks to address the impact of environmental change in Indian agriculture. Method: Employ a mixed-methods approach to data collection, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques: Employ a mixed- methods approach to data collection, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. Quantitative data analysis involves Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression modeling to determine the relationship that exists between socio-economic status and resilience under consideration. Discussion: Specially, discussions are on Climatic Change, Preserving Environment, Environment, Climatic Condition and Crops Production, Input Costs, Market Distress, and Price Volatility. Findings: Some potential findings may include Importance of Local Knowledge and Practices, Socio- economic Disparities in Resilience, Role of Institutional Support and Governance, Adaptive Capacity and Learning Processes, Gender Dynamics and Differential Impacts, Community-based Approaches and Social Cohesion, and Policy Implications and Recommendations. Suggestions: There are some suggestions. Conclusion: The study draws a systematic understanding of the forces affecting resilience outcomes of farming communities; including local knowledge, socio-economic differentiation, institutional, adaptive capacity, gender relations and community-based practices.
