Abstract
This article presents a detailed report on GMC Conference 2026, the 3rd National Edition of the annual Model United Nations (MUN) conference organised by the GECA MUN Club at Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Maharashtra, India. Held on 17–18 January 2026, the conference brought together 370 delegates from more than 20 institutions across approximately seven Indian states, deliberating across nine committees on a range of substantive international and domestic policy agendas. Operating under the theme Legacy in the Loom of Leadership and supported by an eighteen-member Executive Board and a forty-member organising committee, GMC Conference 2026 stands as the largest and most complex edition of the conference to date. This report documents the conference structure, committee agendas, thematic and pedagogical design, notable outcomes, logistical challenges, and the broader educational case for embedding simulation-based learning exercises, like MUN, in undergraduate curricula. The article also discusses the measured growth of this conference across three editions and the strategic trajectory it has set, including its transition to an international format in 2027.
