The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of surrounding ground media over the structural responses of tunnel lining under internal blast loading. For this purpose, time history analysis of tunnel is carried out using Explicit Dynamic Analysis in ABAQUS and blast load is modelled using CONWEP technique. The structural responses are recorded in terms of stress and strain of tunnel lining at the apex point of centre of tunnel. Furthermore, parametric studies are carried out to see the effect of various equivalent TNT weight and location of the point of response record from the point of detonation (centre of tunnel). The numerical analysis under internal blast of 75 kg equivalent TNT shows that the Intact Rock Mass (IRM) reduced the shear stress and logarithmic strain in comparison to Saturated Soft Soil (SSS) by 61.31 % and 86.24 % respectively.
