Abstract
Materials synthesis and processing are pivotal in advancing technologies across domains such as electronics and biomedical applications. This review provides a detailed exploration of recent advancements in thin film deposition techniques, focusing on hydrogenated diamond-like carbon (HDLC) films and various surface modification methodologies. Beginning with an overview of HDLC films, the paper highlights their unique properties and wide-ranging applications, emphasizing their importance in modern materials science. Key sections of the review examine different HDLC film deposition methods, particularly chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD). Additionally, the paper delves into surface modification techniques, including plasma treatment, ion implantation, and laser processing, offering insights into their mechanisms and potential uses. By integrating theoretical concepts with practical applications, this review aims to provide researchers and engineers with a comprehensive understanding of advanced materials synthesis and processing techniques. The synthesis of HDLC films and the application of surface modifications are discussed in detail, demonstrating their impact on enhancing material performance.
