Abstract

Nowadays Due to rapid urbanization and the increasing number of vehicles in India, major traffic problems have emerged in cities. The lack of parking spots is one of the main causes. Even when parking spaces are available, they are often not properly managed. Additionally, improper and unorganized parking by individuals leads to inefficient use of available space, further worsening traffic congestion as people tend to park their vehicles anywhere. This paper proposes a smart parking system that utilizes ground-based strip sensors to accurately detect vehicle entry and exit by sensing the movement of front and rear tires unlike conventional parking systems that rely on overhead cameras or ultrasonic sensors the proposed approach offers a cost-effective durable and weather-independent solution the system is designed to automatically identify parking space occupancy in real-time and update the availability status through a centralized platform additionally the model can be enhanced with artificial intelligence to predict parking demand optimize space allocation and reduce congestion in high-traffic areas the proposed system aims to minimize search time for parking reduce fuel consumption and improve overall urban traffic flow here we can also create an application that can help individuals use this application and book a parking space in advance and also individuals who use it on a daily basis can buy a subscription and keep the particular space booked in advance hassle-free this paper presents a novel implementation method that combines scalability and smart city integration potential making it suitable for deployment in commercial complexes public parking areas and smart city infrastructures.
