Abstract

nAn EMG-controlled prosthetic hand is a type of artificial hand that users can control through muscle signals. When a person with a missing hand tries to move their “phantom” hand, the muscles in the remaining part of the arm still produce electrical signals. Small sensors placed on the skin detect these signals, which are then translated into movements of the prosthetic hand, like opening, closing, or gripping objects. This technology allows users to control the prosthetic in a more natural way. Although there are still some challenges like making the hand respond faster and making it more comfortable to wear, researchers are constantly working on improvements. Future versions may even include a feature where the person can “feel” through the prosthetic, making it even more lifelike. EMG controlled prosthetic hands are a big step forward in helping people with limb loss regain independence in their daily lives.nn
