Abstract

In today’s world, the over-reliance on traditional fuels such as coal, diesel, and gas has led to significant environmental challenges, including global warming, air pollution, and resource depletion. As a result, the need for transitioning to renewable and clean energy sources like solar energy has become urgent. Solar energy is abundant, sustainable, and offers great potential to meet the world’s energy demands without compromising environmental health. One of the most practical applications of solar energy is  in solar water heating systems, which are considered user-friendly, low-cost, and biodegradable. An
SWH can contribute to reducing household electricity consumption, assisting in decreasing the use of  fossil fuels, and cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions. The paper discusses the various  components, designs, operation principles, and various applications of SWH, giving their benefits and  drawbacks. Following analyses of how optimized design and geographical and user-specific factors  can enhance SWH reliability and efficiency, the presented SWHs would be one viable, sustainable, and
efficient option for water heating in various sectors.
