About the Journal

International Journal of Town Planning and Management (IJTPM) is a peer-reviewed hybrid open-access journal launched in 2015. Town planning focuses on the planning and design of new buildings, roads, and parks to enhance the livability and functionality of urban and rural environments. The goal of town planning is to meet the needs of future generations while preventing haphazard growth. Urban planning, also known as regional, town, city, or rural planning, involves the development and design of land use and built environments, including critical infrastructure such as transportation, communication, and distribution networks. It is an interdisciplinary field integrating planning, architecture, surveying, landscape architecture, and construction engineering to address global land resource management challenges. Highway corridor planning: Effects on settlement patterns

Abstract Submission Deadline : 30/11/2023

Manuscript Submission Deadline : 25/12/2023

Special Issue Description

The Industrial Corridor Development Policy has several clearly stated objectives, such as enhancing infrastructure, promoting exports, creating jobs, and connecting rapidly developing regions to comparatively less developed regions. The corridor policy, which largely focuses on constructing manufacturing and capital equipment, is an effort by the Indian national government to formally link economic and industrial development to urbanization. Everything was connected invisibly by the plethora of transportation and communication routes, including telephones, railroads, rivers, airways, and highways and roads. Urban corridors are a pattern of urban systems that evolved along transportation corridors, allowing for the movement of people and products between the major urban hubs, resulting in the densification of city cores and the expansion of urban peripheral areas. The idea of developing corridors is not new, especially in developed areas. Following the industrial revolution, a brand-new phenomenon known as conurbation emerged in which cities expanded in a straight line. Modern urban corridors and this idea are very similar, however contemporary urban corridors operate on a much wider spatial scale. These corridors, which connect two or more metropolitan centers via passenger and freight traffic, are made up of a range of infrastructure, including highways, railways, bus lanes, cycling tracks, river canals, and water and air connections.
