Abstract

Traditional land record management systems often face challenges related to inefficiency, corruption, and lack of transparency, which can undermine public trust and effective governance. This paper presents a blockchain-based framework designed to enhance the transparency, security, and efficiency of land record management. By utilizing decentralized technology, the framework eliminates intermediaries, ensures data immutability, and improves accessibility. Smart contracts are integrated to streamline processes such as land registration, leasing, and mortgaging while mitigating risks of fraud. The study also addresses key challenges, including scalability, data privacy, and system interoperability, to ensure practical applicability. Through a comparative analysis of existing systems, this paper highlights the transformative potential of blockchain technology in modernizing land record management and supporting decentralized governance.

Keywords: Blockchain Technology; Land Record Management, Land Leasing and Mortgaging; Property Rights; Decentralized Governance; Land Registration; Data Security, Smart Contracts.
