Abstract

Student housing and roommate search is a scattered field which mostly sees itself out for community building and trust within a college setting. We present ClgJone which is a Flutter based, Firebase supported student centered mobile app that puts together roommate match up, community news feed, and secure real time messaging into one campus wide platform. The app is for university students and it has authorization, roommate finders, chat, community interaction, verification and push notification features which it puts forward via a scalable cloud architecture. In this paper we present the design, architecture and implementation of ClgJone which we used Flutter for cross platform delivery, Firebase for real time sync, and Node.js /Firebase Cloud Functions for the backend logic. We go into design choices for state management, navigation, and data modeling and also into security, scalability and performance we did to better the product. We used performance and usability metrics in an experimental evaluation which reported good latency, stable throughput and positive user response in our pilot deployment. Also we put forward a comparison of ClgJone to present day roommate finders and we present a road map toward machine learning based recommendations, advanced safety features and multi platform growth with Flux, the integrated AI academic assistant powered by Google Gemini, further improvise ClgJone by providing instant AKTU notes and personalized technology of learning with roadmaps, reducing student resource search time by over 80%.
