Abstract
The safety and security of children in daycare centers remain a critical concern for parents and caregivers. Child daycare centers play a fundamental role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children while their parents or guardians engage in work and other responsibilities. However, ensuring the safety and security of children in these facilities remains a major concern, particularly in monitoring drop-offs and pick-ups to prevent unauthorized access and possible security breaches. Traditional methods of attendance tracking, such as manual logs and sign-in sheets, are not only prone to human errors but also increase the risk of unauthorized individuals gaining access to a child, making them unreliable in ensuring maximum security This study aims to enhance child safety by implementing a secure check-in and check-out system using private key authentication and QR code verification. The system ensures that only authorized individuals can pick up or drop off a child, reducing risks of unauthorized access. Developed using Javascript, Ajax, PHP and MySQLi, the system provides an efficient staff portal for managing attendance, tracking daily check-ins and check-outs, and maintaining accurate records. This solution enhances security while improving the overall efficiency of daycare operations. The secure check-in/check-out mechanism uses QR code authentication and private key verification to ensure only authorized guardians can pick up children. This significantly improves security compared to manual registers. Real-time attendance tracking enables staff to monitor child presence, while automated notifications keep parents informed about their child’s check-in and check-out times. The system’s implementation has proven to be user-friendly, secure, and effective in improving daycare management. It reduces administrative workload, enhances transparency, and ensures that child records are properly maintained. Based on the findings of this study, it is concluded that the proposed system is a viable solution for daycare management.
