Abstract

n

n

nThe advancement of dental devices has been significantly influenced by the development of polymer-based materials and composite structures. This paper explores the role of polymer chemistry in the design and manufacturing of a dental X-ray film holder, highlighting its impact on performance, safety, and sustainability. The use of biodegradable, durable, and patient-friendly polymer composites enhances the functionality and comfort of these dental tools, making them more cost-effective and efficient for both practitioners and patients. Polymer-based materials contribute to improved mechanical properties, including enhanced strength, flexibility, and thermal stability, ensuring the device’s reliability during repeated use. Additionally, these materials exhibit superior chemical resistance, making them highly suitable for sterilization and long-term application in dental environments. The incorporation of antimicrobial polymer coatings further minimizes the risk of bacterial contamination, reducing infection rates and promoting better oral hygiene. Moreover, the integration of eco-friendly polymer technologies in dental tools aligns with sustainable medical practices. By utilizing biodegradable and recyclable materials, the environmental impact of disposable dental products can be significantly reduced. This not only supports green initiatives within the healthcare sector but also addresses concerns related to medical waste management. This study highlights the numerous advantages of polymer-based materials in dental applications, emphasizing their role in improving patient compliance, enhancing safety, and promoting sustainability.nn
