Abstract

nMetal-organic frameworks (MOF) are composed of metal ions and organic linkers and have many application fields. Most of MOFs are synthesized by solvothermal method and in this method we mainly use DMF solvent. This paper proposed the synthesis method of MOF UiO-66 which is more eco-friendly than conventional method using harmful DMF solvent. In this method we use the PET waste bottles, which causes a lot of environmental problems in all parts of the world. The independent variables investigated include mass ratio of PET and ethylene glycol, synthesis temperature and the amount of water addition. This paper also proposed the result of the photocatalytic performance of MOF which was synthesized by this method. The MOF catalyst showed the excellent property. This method will improve the eco-property of MOF. The method investigated in this paper has following advantages in protecting environment. First, we can deal with the waste problems which cause environmental challenges. Second, this method makes it possible to synthesize MOF, which is widely used in various fields, without DMF, which is harmful to the environment. Third, we can converse CO 2 into Formic Acid using MOF which is synthesized from waste bottles.nn
