Abstract
Arthritis, a group of over 100 joint disorders, is characterized by chronic inflammation that leads to pain, reduced mobility, and disability. As the aging global population grows, the prevalence of arthritis, particularly osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), continues to rise. Significant psychological, social, and financial difficulties are among the many ways that arthritis affects quality of life (QoL), in addition to physical health. Joint stiffness, discomfort, and deformities that significantly impair physical function, mobility, and independence frequently cause arthritis sufferers to be limited in their everyday activities. Additionally, depression, anxiety, and social isolation are frequently the emotional results of chronic pain and decreased mobility. Both direct medical expenses and indirect costs, such lost productivity, are included in the economic burden of arthritis. This review compiles recent research on arthritis’s multidimensional impact, emphasizing the importance of a complete management strategy that addresses both the physical and psychological elements of the disease. Early diagnosis, effective treatment strategies, and integrated care that includes medical, psychological, and social support are critical for enhancing the overall quality of life of arthritis patients.
