This study assessed the level of knowledge and practice regarding self-care management among post-operative Orthopaedic patients through a non-experimental descriptive research design. Sixty Orthopaedic patients were selected using purposive sampling technique from a selected hospital at K.G.F. The check list (Printz, foster Kent and O’Leary, Robin and Foster 1989) was administered followed by assessing the knowledge of practice of self-care management. Majority of the findings were; 61.7% of post-operative Orthopaedic patients had inadequate knowledge and 35% of them had moderate knowledge on self-care management only 3.3% had adequate knowledge. The level of practice among 60 post-operative Orthopaedic patients 93.7% have adaptive practice only 6.3% had maladaptive practice. The correlation of knowledge and practice shows that there is moderate positive correlation r=0.420 and (p=0.601) which is statically significant.
