This study looks at the various methods used to improve the Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) capabilities of wind turbine systems (WT) that are based on Double Fed Induction Generators (DFIG). The Type-III WT machine, which is mostly based on DFIG, is instantly connected to the grid without the digital power interface, making the terminal voltage or reactive electricity output unmanageable. This is because the world utilises between 20% and 25% of renewable energy from wind. Consequently, new LVRT techniques based on the use of extra active interface technologies were described in this work. The low voltage fault problem is now being addressed by a variety of approaches. This research attempts to identify such working ways by bridging the gap in terms of total adaptive performance, operating complexity of controllers, and cost-effectiveness by analysing LVRT strategies for DFIG-based WECS. Based on their grid integrations, this study focusses on methods to improve LVRT’s reliance on relationship establishment in three key areas. The wind turbine system in this study is connected to DVR and STATCOM for active and reactive power regulation during the fault detection process. This paper highlights the operation of both synchronous and non-synchronous reference frames. It also shows how the use of STATCOM in conjunction with SRF theory improves active and reactive power during disturbances. The MATLAB simulink is used to simulate and analyse the mathematical models of the complete system.
