Special Issue Description

Surrogate colonization refers to a colonial authority’s support for a colonial settlement project where the bulk of the settlers is not of the same ethnicity as the governing group. “Internal colonialism” alludes to an imbalanced structural structure of power within a state. Exploitation starts with the state itself. An example of this is the transfer of power and exploitation from the citizens of the colonizing nation to the immigrant population within a newly independent country. For residents, living in a green community offers a host of advantages, such as better well-being and health, higher spirits, lower energy expenses, and cleaner air. According to one definition, green urbanism is the process of developing communities that are healthy both for people and the environment. The goal, according to Timothy Beatley, is to create an environment, communities, and lifestyles that are more sustainable while using fewer resources overall. Urban areas may provide the foundation for how environmentally conscious and sustainable city planning can benefit the environment at the local, regional, and global levels. In addition to architects and urban designers, green urbanism involves the participation of landscape architects, engineers, urban planners, ecologists, transport planners, physicists, psychologists, sociologists, and other specialists. A sustainable community uses its resources to address immediate needs while preserving enough resources for future generations. By reducing waste, eliminating pollution, promoting efficiency, and developing local resources to boost the local economy, it aims to improve the quality of life for all citizens while conserving nature’s ability to endure over time. Vibrant civic life and information sharing among community members are indeed the foundation of judgment in a sustainable community.
