Special Issue Description

Due to bacterial resistance and limited drug exposure at the infection site, intravenous and oral antibiotics are not usually effective for treating lung infections. Pharmacognosy is the study of natural medicines derived from living things including most plants, microorganisms, and animals. Many significant medications still in use today, such as morphine, atropine, galantamine, etc., have their roots in nature and are still useful model molecules for drug development. Pharmacognosy also includes traditional medicine, and the majority of third-world nations still rely heavily on the usage of herbal remedies. As a result, pharmacognosy continues to be well-liked in the pharmaceutical sciences and is important for discovering new drugs. A chemical compound created by scientists things including drugs, supplements, and machines are referred to as a man-made product. Pharmacognosy, or the study of medications with natural sources, is a crucial area of study in the pharmaceutical sciences. Pharmacognosy is defined as the systematic study of the morphological, chemical, and biological qualities, as well as the history, cultivation, collection, extraction, isolation, bioassaying, quality control, and manufacture of crude pharmaceuticals with natural origins.
