Special Issue Description

The inner epithelial layer of the mammalian uterus, combined with its mucous membrane, is known as the endometrium. It has a functional layer and a basal layer, and the functional layer’s stem cells are found in the basal layer. This mucous membrane gets thicker before a potential pregnancy. The lining remains in place if a fertilized egg is implanted. If not, a menstrual period causes the endometrium to shrink and shed. Endometriosis is a condition in which endometrium, the tissue that normally lines the interior of your uterus, grows outside of your uterus. The tissue lining your pelvic, fallopian tubes, and ovaries are all frequently affected by endometriosis. Rarely, tissue resembling endometrium may be seen outside the region around the pelvic organs. The main sign of endometriosis is pelvic pain, which is frequently related to menstruation. Although many women suffer cramps throughout their periods, individuals who have endometriosis frequently have significantly more severe menstrual pain than usual. Over time, pain may potentially get worse. Here, in this special issue, we are inviting you to submit your Research article related to female reproductive health and various topics related to obstetrics, perinatal and neonatal nursing.
