Special Issue Description

Preterm Birth is a delivery that takes place before the 37th week of pregnancy An average pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. Being pregnant with multiples and having a previous premature birth are two risk factors for premature birth. A full term in the uterus is necessary for a fetus to develop. They might not fully mature if they are born too soon. Serious health issues may result from this. Heart, brain, lung, and liver problems are common in premature infants. Healthcare professionals called neonatologists are experts in caring for newborns. Important organs may not fully develop when an infant is not given enough time to develop in the uterus. However, improvements in neonatal care are assisting a lot of preterm infants in becoming strong, healthy kids. The greatest strategy to avoid early labor or delivery is to maintain good health during your pregnancy. Some common causes of premature birth are: Conceiving through in vitro fertilization, Problems with the uterus, cervix, or placenta, Smoking cigarettes or using illicit drugs, Some infections, particularly of the amniotic fluid and lower genital tract, Some chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, Being underweight or overweight before pregnancy, Stressful life events, such as the death of a loved one or domestic violence In this special issue, we are inviting you to submit your research findings mainly focused on childbirth, preterm births, newborn care, and covering the health of the female reproductive system.
