Manuscript Submission Deadline : December 25, 2024

Special Issue Description

The creation of a new, ecologically acceptable covering to prevent corrosion on metallic surfaces has sparked a lot of interest in material science during the past few years. Because they release their active ingredients in a controlled manner to stop cracks from spreading in the protective coating, smart self-healing coatings have shown promise in avoiding the corrosion of metals and alloys in a variety of technological applications. Material scientists have taken a keen interest in these coatings because they have active responses to local environmental changes and passive matrix functionality. The materials used to create smart coatings have specific chemical, physical, mechanical, and electrical properties. These intelligent coatings react to environmental changes like pressure, heat, and chemical reactions. The preparation methods, functional and reactive components, and their uses and applications are the main criteria used to categorize smart coatings. Self-cleaning, microcapsule healing, self-healing, and anticorrosion coatings are examples of typical coatings. Smart coatings have multiple functions, including sensing, protection, and healing, in the process of shielding metallic substrates. This analysis attempts to highlight the newest developments in smart coatings with self-healing capabilities. the various smart coatings’ preparation.

Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the manuscript Engine. Once you register on APID, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline.
All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a Double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for the submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
